The Rewards Of Designing Wedding Cakes

I got great satisfaction from making this wedding cake last week, it measured one metre when I finished placing it altogether so I felt it was very appropriate to name it Skyhigh Bling. The cake was very rewarding to bake & design.

It was even more rewarding when one of the guests left a message on my facebook explaining  that it was one of the best cakes they had ever tasted. There was a mixture of flavours on this cake, some tiers had lemon cake and others had chocolate.

The biggest challenge to this cake was assembling it at the venue after we transported it in sections. I needed step ladders to place the top tiers on :)

I do love designing wedding cakes in particular as I get to feel that I am contributing to my customers special day .

I do love the simple but elegant style to this cake. As they say, 'less is more''

Why we only make fresh cakes

This is our first blog, so we thought we would give a short brief explanation on one of our values

WHY FRESH CAKES??????

Recently I got asked what is the difference between fresh cakes that Cake Temptations supply, cake mix that cake shops use & processed supermarket cakes?

So at Cake Temptations we decided to do a little research on behalf of our customers. One of the biggest & worrying issues is Hydrogenated fats & trans fats that are unfortunately in non organic cake mix's & some supermarket cakes.

HYDROGENATED FATS & TRANS FATS

Trans fats are chemically altered vegetable oils. They are produced artificially in a process called hydrogenation which turns liquid oil into solid fat.
These fats are a cheap ingredient used to extend the shelf life of processed cakes & are designed not to change the taste.

They are linked to high cholesterol, heart disease & strokes.Several countries have banned trans fats - in denmark a law was passed in 2003 making it illegal for any food to contain more than 2% trans fats. In the U.K - there is no requirement for the level of trans fats to be included on food labelling.

DO YOU LOVE ANYONE ENOUGH TO GIVE THEM A TRANS FAT CAKE??
